"Voting third-party is throwing your vote away." ... Good. I'd rather waste my vote than vote Democrat *or* Republican. There's nothing to lose. Don't kid yourself, I'm not expecting the third party to win. That's not the point. It's about telling both Democrats and Republicans to be more like the third party. And maybe they'll never listen. Who cares? It ain't any worse than not voting at all.

Listen she may have moved a little more Center than some people like, but if you turn progressives off from her you are going to get her defeated by a true centrist who will never support any part of a progressive agenda. So I would say it is alright to call out your own but you had better be damn careful in how you do it. Because the centrist and their media are never going to call their people out.

The idea that Bernie is trying to "burn it all down" is not "an imagined caricature" of Bernie Sanders. Like AOC, Sanders has branded his "movement" as a "revolution", espoused the word "socialism" and embraced his "outsider" reputation, while simultaneously working as a lackey of the Democratic establishment that he ostensibly was leading a "revolution" against. To quote Crooked, when I think of die-hard Bernie supporters "I feel so bad that people got sucked into it".

There’s a reason the truism that “power corrupts” has stood the test of time; it simply describes human nature. The thing that baffles me about progressives is their apparent confidence that their sociopolitical ideology excludes them from this facet of human nature. It seems like progressives believe that if the “machine” were made up entirely of progressives it would somehow transcend human nature and be invulnerable to corruption.

Niggas talk about change and working within the system to achieve that. The problem with always being a conformist is that when you try to change the system from within, it's not you who changes the system; it's the system that will eventually change you. There is usually nothing wrong with compromise in a situation, but compromising yourself in a situation is another story completely, and I have seen this happen long enough in the few years that I've been alive to know that it's a serious problem. -From The Poverty of Philosophy by Immortal Technique (Revolutionary Vol.1)

"The left is going to have to grapple with the reality" that the Dems use their votes as a bargaining chip when competing with the GOP for Wall St's donations. If you want policy changes, and just just a more civil version of what the GOP will give you, you have to vote for a party that stands for those policy changes. One or two "AOCs" in the House will do nothing done to slow our descent into ruin for the majority of people while the ruling class lives in opulence. The only thing that will make the Dems move to the left of the Bush family is a third party taking their votes away from them and wining in places where people can no longer accept either of Wall St's political offerings.

My 19yo daughter would tear her to shreds in a debate. AOC cannot explain how any of her policies could work, for two reasons. 1. She doesn't have the intelligence. She would start BS-ing/babbling incoherently as usual. She always relies on the emotional responses from her supporters who never question her nonsense. 2. Her policies only work in fantasy land. My intelligent and knowledgeable daughter would fire back and ask AOC to elaborate on specific points (something she has proven incapable of doing). AOC would either humiliate herself with a response like her famous "Palestine is occupied" fiasco or she would otherwise not respond due to ignorance. AOC might ask an ill-formed question which my daughter would promptly an intelligently answer with a thorough explanation. My daughter would ask AOC another question with the same type of incoherent responses and nonsense. Etc, etc, etc 😂

Dear American sisters and brothers, I became very excited with Bernie since 2016. I am devastated now and it is time for reckoning. Social justice platforms (obvious and commonsense to most intellectuals and policy experts, hence their overwhelming support for Bernie) do struggle in "ambitious" cultures/economies. The revolution never happened in Western Europe, Japan or the US. The Welfare State was an exception, an exceptional concession of the West to Scandinavia to prevent seduction with the neighbouring USSR. In my humble, external, opinion you guys need TOTALLY NEW RULES: - Party financing - Proportional seat allocation (as opposed to winner-take-all, which would permit VIABLE THIRD PARTIES) - Territorial district definition: gerrymandering. - Further decentralisation, State rights, federalism (your progressive States are often artificially dragged and burdened by conservative/reactionary/provincial ones; besides let them live on their dismally low taxes, don't reward them with financing, investment) - Etc, etc, etc. Don't lose sight of the playing rules. Keep fighting for specific and overall goals but don't forget you are not playing on an even field. Your struggle is the more admirable because it is basically improbable. FDR and the New Deal (that Wilson had tried to promote) were possible ONLY because of the war. These crises are often the only windows of opportunity. Let's not waste them on internal and pointless fights. Let's look beyond individual figures. We'll have some necessary charismatic figure once the strategy is there.
