If it's leaking that much it's more likely to be a cracked head than a blown head gasket .

I don't understand all the extra unnecessary work when all it needed was a new head gasket.

It's just a blown head gasket right? Why do they change the whole engine? Buy a new head gasket for about 50 to 70 bucks. Way cheaper. Less work can be repaired in 1 hour even by amateurs.

Well maybe it takes 2 hours because you have to drain the oil a few times. Till it comes out clean.

Sorry guys but with having to take the intake and exhaust off I would have fixed the head gasket or cracked head. 1 to 2 day fix and much easier

Sure the intake mani gasket wasn't leaking coolant into one/multiple runners? Cool build~

I see that the replacement engine has AP2 in the VIN, but the head could have been swapped onto an AP1 engine's block. The AP1 has an F20C, whereas the AP2 has an F22C. To be absolutly certain, you can find the engine code stamped on the block, just below the #1 intake runner. All F22C engines come with an electronic actuated throttle, and this one has clearly been swapped. Additionally, the head looks far less oxidized than the block. I wouldn't be surprised if that was an F22C head on a F20C block.

The oem header and oem airbox usually outperform the aftermarket units.

With the other engine that was in your original car, the one that you swapped out, When you star it up it sounds like there is a cylinder that is being relied on to start properly, is not firing. Even when the engine is started you can hear the piston being dragged with the rest of them. Try doing a rebuild of that engine to find the problem and maybe sell the engine or just do what ever you want with it. Certainly don't just keep it in your yard to just rust away because it is a very valuable engine

Boys why don’t u spend a few bucks & get u a commercial battery charger b4 u burn the starter up on one of ur cars? Invest in tools & equipment u can never go wrong! Ur going to have to add onto ur building so u have a place to store ur cars inside out of the weather & a place to work!

You could have probably just changed the ECU over rather than messing with the harness. Check out the wire if it was chopped it may have been to override a safety feature like speed limiter. Love the channel new as to it and you are a man of many talents thats for sure. Will be catching up on everything else you guys have posted thats for sure.

As the saying goes, hind sight is 20/20. While the engine swap was interesting, I wonder if you are second guessing your decision to not fix the head gasket. Unless something was catastrophically wrong, my guess is that you would have been done by now. Swapping cams, wiring harnesses, sensors and if the crank sensor doesn't fix it, even more research is adding up to be far more work than a simple head gasket. Just wondering if the crank reluctor (sp?) ring has the same number of teeth between the 2 engines. I know you have to pay attention to specific years on Chevy LS engines because of reluctor ring differences.

S2000 guy checking in. The OEM header is far superior to almost every aftermarket header in existence. Also your last video showed the frame rails with holes cut/ground into them which is necessary for a few different turbo manifold set ups. Be aware the engine you’re swapping in was for sure turbo’d.
