Nvidia needs to use g sync for live starcraft 2 audiences. They turn off vsync and it looks awful. I can see now why this is somewhat difficult. Imagine a theater sized G sync experience. The twin thread hardware synchronous limit of the engine is why tri core CPUs in benchmarks were the fastest. The OS overhead is handled by the spare core, and thus a quad was irrelevant. This means the game serves as an excellent single threaded performance benchmark even in the modern era and g sync is an absolute must, or you will get endless frame duplication frickery, particularly in 4 vs 4. Freesync does not work with AMD under DX9, and I know because I tried desperately to get it working to no avail. Of course windows thread scheduler is poorer than managing the game to two threads unadulterated by random CPU cycle theft when there is a perfectly unused set of 2 cores, and 4 logical cores in my case. Third party control, and strategy, has decreased the nanosecond pauses which are responsible for the drop under the classic 60fps on fast modern CPUs heavily overclocked and even spoiled with super fast ram, and IMCs. This predator 144hz (180hz OC'ed) 1080p g sync monitor is amazing. The game is unplayable without it unless you are blind.

Psssst, hey there linus. G751JY non ROG and the possibility, of hush hush freesyncism may be afoot. Evidence suggesting this be the case contradicts the established PR. It reminds me of Z270 and intel. Either way you could test it, if nvidia the true source of otherwise second hand falsity wasnt a pressure bearing upon you. They might not like it but I thought you should know, and AMD's implementation doesnt work in DX9. If that is whats going on, nvidia is getting freesync to work in DX9. The only other alternative is there is an inert g sync module inacctive on the non ROG models launched earlier in the year they debuted. Thats not a cost efficient method, as you and I might speculate. I in no way know the entire story, but logically, it probably is as I suspect.

Sometimes you make studies for years to make a premieum thing, but once you finish the work you will notuce that the differnce is nonsense between this premium thing and another normql thing that simebody else has made it easily without the deep and smart searching along with unique testing, this is the story between AMD and NVIDIA adaptive sync, I am pretty sure that nvidia is the premium choice while AMD is the other normal or budget choice, but because I love and apperciate premium work I love nvidia technologies pretty much over AMD, even if G-sync can deliver the same experience that AMD's FreeSync do, but far more expensive, I still prefer nvidias technology as tge premium choice :) Great job from nvidia's engineers

The setups all look kinda janky, like a panel could be failed because someone sneezed or an aeroplane flew by a bit low. It’s all well and good to have 40k equipment, but using stacks of printer paper or tape to prop up a panel during the test, kind wastes it all. “Just getting it done” is very different from “doing it well”.

A few things .. 1 - I have that predator monitor that Linus first pointed to .. yaaay. 2 - I've seen impressive examples like this before of what companies do to make quality products but the truth is it was more PR than something substantial. Having said that, this behind the scenes video seems fairly legit. 3 - I'm still very skeptical that HDR is a thing that needs to exist. In examples I've seen before, the image comparisons show something that to me isn't depth so much as different colours. If displays before this weren't doing it right then they've ALL been getting made incorrectly and manufacturers have been lying to us about colour accuracy. 4 - $50,000 test rig with accuracy to 0.1mm which is sitting on a paper pad and resting up against some random foam packaging block, hmmm. That thing looked unstable like it could fall off. 5 - In the explanation about pixel values around 9:50 linus talks about guess work in calculating pixel value and also about look-up tables. Why do monitors need to do guess work? Couldn't they just add that data into the look-up table? 6 - What's in the suitcase? ಠ_ಠ
