When installing the face material, you did not note the stop depth, indicated by the tape. Others not familiar with the method likely missed the tape or connected the dots. I recommend putting the bit next to the laid up boards to show the thickness then show the bit with tape to indicate the depth stop connection.

the optical illusion of the higher speed screw install is always funny because it appears to be spinning counter clockwise. When it slows, it appears to be going clockwise. This is a nice table. I encourage you to sell the plans so others can catch up to you.

This is almost a $1000.00 build... and that's just for the aluminum. [CORRECTION] Several $1000.00 build. This is gorgeous, but most of the builds these days are so expensive, you would have to be very well off to make them and then, with that kind of money, you could just buy what you need at a much lower price.

We need a message base to discuss this. The plans are 1,000 Yen which is about $9.50 USD. Click on the link in the description, then on the big blue button. It takes you to Paypal, and once you've paid you get an email in half an hour or so with a link and a password. This pass must be entered *manually* -- not by cutting and pasting. Then you get specifications for materials and instructions, definitely worth what you paid. To get an idea of the cost in your region, go to Amazon and type "Misumi extrusion". This is for the imported material, but you may find a local supply and save $$.

Make sure you connect the bench to an electrical ground (earth). I looked around for a source for the extrusions etc. and was surprised to find one that has EVERYTHING, very close to my location. So I'll be purchasing the plans (but not necessarily building the project).

I got so inspired that I sketched out my own work desk design. Calculated the Ratrig-frame that I'd need. 80x80mm | tot L: 5360mm, 40x80mm | tot L: 6240mm, 40x120mm | Tot L: 800mm. It truly hit me like a truck when I realized how much of an investment this must have been... (discounting the table- vice & top) P.s. well, no one's more deserving of a good work space than its maker ^^ On the off chance, anyone got an easy (less of an investment) frame alternative? (I'm assuming it might be the most cost efficient way to take out the chisels & some elbow-grease for my first table instead) Edit; Broken English fix

These videos are interesting, but the maker seems very consumeristic. Unwrapping new saws. Ordering expensive aluminum parts. I liked the content better when he was repurposing hand tools by making stands for them. Now it is like ikea with better engineering. Kinda interesting. Kinda dull.

That is one cool workbench! Great job! Simple construction very rigid. It incorporates nearly everything anyone could ever want in a workbench. If refinements were later needed or wished for, the workbench could be easily modified to accomplish them. At the end of the changes, it would appear as if the new features were there from the beginning. I love it.
